A Love Supreme

A Love Supreme: The Instruments Speak

By Bernard King

They played the music. They witnessed the transformation. Now, for the first time, imagine hearing their side of the story.

What if John Coltrane's saxophone could remember every breath? What if the piano could reveal the emotions behind each chord? What if the bass and drums could tell the story of a musical masterpiece that became a spiritual offering?

In A Love Supreme: The Instruments Speak, author Bernard King brings an extraordinary perspective to one of jazz's most celebrated recordings by giving the instruments something they've never had before—a voice.

Through the imagined memories of Coltrane's tenor saxophone, McCoy Tyner's piano, Jimmy Garrison's bass, and Elvin Jones' drums, readers are transported into the heart of a remarkable creative and spiritual journey.

Each instrument becomes a storyteller, revealing a world of struggle, redemption, faith, artistic devotion, and the pursuit of something greater than music itself.

Inspired by the life and legacy of John Coltrane, this beautifully imagined work of fiction blends jazz history, poetic storytelling, and spiritual reflection into an intimate tribute to the transformative power of sound.

This isn't simply a book about how a legendary album was created. It's an invitation to experience what the music might say if the instruments could finally speak.

Perfect for jazz lovers, musicians, music historians, spiritual seekers, and anyone who believes that the most powerful stories aren't always told through words.

Four instruments. One legendary masterpiece. A story you've never heard told this way.

Discover the voices behind the music. Experience A Love Supreme through an entirely different perspective.
